22K gold contains 91.67% pure gold and 8.33% other metals such as copper or silver. It is widely used in fine and traditional jewellery.
21 Karat (21K)
21K gold contains 87.5% pure gold and 12.5% other metals. Very common in Arab countries as it balances purity with durability.
18 Karat (18K)
18K gold contains 75% pure gold and 25% other metals. Used in fine jewellery for its durability and scratch resistance, and preferred in modern designs.
The higher the purity (karat), the higher the price per gram — so gold prices differ noticeably by karat even at identical weights.
